From the border through rolling grasslands and oak canyons, afternoons commonly reach the mid-teens to upper 20s°C while nights dip from about -5 to 13°C. Skies alternate clear and overcast, with occasional light drizzle and brief snow. Isolated storms bring heavier bursts, including rain near 27 mm.

Across the low desert toward the foothills, days run 14–28°C with nights 2–13°C. Intervals of drizzle or light rain appear, and one storm drops around 12 mm, followed by clearing and warm, sunny stretches.

Climbing into higher mountains, temperatures fall sharply, with highs from single digits to the low 20s°C and lows down to -6°C, locally warmer on sheltered nights. Overcast periods grow longer, and a strong system brings around 21 mm of snow and 18 mm of rain, before drier breaks return.

Rolling north across lower basins, warmth builds again with highs of 20–32°C and lows 0–16°C. Skies vary from clear to overcast, and passing fronts deliver steady rain near 18 mm with isolated snow as colder air briefly sweeps through.

Approaching rugged desert ranges, most days are dry and warm at 21–32°C, but a major storm punctuates the trend. Heavy rain peaks near 26 mm and heavy snow approaches 22 mm, then conditions moderate with scattered light showers.

Into remote canyons and mesas, temperatures range from 13–27°C by day and -3 to 14°C at night. Weather stays unsettled at times, with drizzle around 11 mm, bursts of snow near 9 mm, and longer overcast spells between sunny windows.

On the transition to higher country, swings intensify: highs run 7–27°C and lows -4 to 13°C. Back-to-back systems bring heavy rain near 29 mm and additional rounds near 29 mm, while the higher ridges take 15–5 mm of snow amid brief clear breaks.

Along the rimward foothills and river corridors, variability continues with highs 4–30°C and lows -5 to 6°C. Mostly dry interludes mix with winter shots that drop 12 mm and 6 mm of snow on higher ground.

Up on the crest roads and adjacent highway corridors, expect cold nights of -10 to 7°C and highs 1–21°C. Clear periods yield to quick snow events delivering about 2–7 mm, then skies reopen.

Across forested springs and meadows, a notable winter burst brings heavy snow around 22 mm, followed by another round near 7 mm. Highs vary from 1–20°C with lows -5 to 6°C as clouds ebb and flow.

On nearby lakes and open flats, repeated storms produce heavy snow near 21 mm, with additional light snow around 3 mm. Temperatures swing between highs of 2–21°C and lows -6 to 5°C through alternating overcast and sunny spells.

Approaching the plateau’s volcanic high country, highs hold 4–22°C with lows -9 to 8°C. Sunny breaks are interrupted by snow near 4 mm and heavier bursts around 9 mm, then clearing resumes.

Across open forests and lookout ridges, cold shots drop nighttime temperatures to -11°C with daytime highs from -3 to 21°C. Light snow of 1–2 mm arrives between mild, dry windows under variable cloud.

On the canyon rims and across the gorge, highs range 2–22°C with lows -10 to 8°C. Showers are scattered, including about 7 mm of rain on one day and occasional light snow around 1 mm.

Over the northern forests and high hills, frequent overcast accompanies several snow bursts. Precipitation peaks near 13 mm and 8 mm, with hard freezes from about -10 to -1°C and highs -4 to 17°C.

Near the state line uplands, temperatures vary widely with highs 0–23°C and lows -5 to 11°C. Skies trend mixed, bringing light snow around 2 mm and brief light showers before brighter weather returns.

At the northern terminus area, afternoons often reach 11–24°C with nights around 0–11°C. Conditions are mostly dry, punctuated by occasional light snow near 3 mm or brief drizzle under overcast skies.
