Occitanie

Starting from Arles, the weather in June is quite variable, with sunny days interspersed with patchy rain and moderate rain at times. As one moves through Saint-Gilles and into Gallargues-le-Montueux and Vendoragues, temperatures hover in the mid-twenties, while sun dominates, accompanied by occasional heavy rain. Continuing to Montpellier and Montarnaud, the pattern holds, with sun and showers alternating, though heavy rain is less frequent. Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert and Saint-Jean-de-la-Blaquière also see a mix of clear skies and notable rainfall. From Lodève through Lunas and Saint-Gervais-sur-Mare up to Murat-sur-Vèbre, the temperatures are similar, but the frequency of heavy rain episodes increases, particularly in mountainous zones. Near the end of the Occitanie leg, rainfall becomes heavier and more frequent as the trail advances through towns like La Salvetat-sur-Agout, Anglès, and onwards toward Toulouse, with sunny days providing brief respites.

Nouvelle-Aquitaine

Starting in Vidouze, the weather remains predominantly sunny with occasional cloudy periods. However, as one progresses through Morlaàs and Lescar, the rain becomes more pronounced, especially heavy rain showers. By the time hikers reach Oloron-Sainte-Marie, cloudy skies and moderate to heavy showers are more frequent, contributing to cooler, more humid conditions. This trend continues to Sarrance and Borce, with rain showers marking a significant portion of the forecast. As the journey concludes at Somport, hikers should expect similar conditions, with sunny intervals reluctantly giving way to heavy showers, often occurring in the afternoon or evening.
