If you start your trip in May, you can expect sun, clouds, and likely some rain in the northern Basque Country. History says that towns like Bayonne, Souraïde, and Amaiur often have different amounts of rain. Still, it's usually 10-17°C.
In the later part of your journey around areas like Berroeta, Olagüe, and Pamplona, it's typically drier. Even if there's less rain, the temperature might rise a little, so do keep drinking water and be ready for the sun.
