The start of the Camino del Norte in Irún, Spain, has mild winter weather with temperatures between 8°C to 12°C, and varies from sunny to rainy. On the way to San Sebastián and Zarautz, there is more sunshine and some rain, with temperatures around 11°C.
Moving west to Deba, Markina-Xemein, and Gernika, temperatures stay around 5°C to 11°C. The weather here can be sunny, cloudy, or rainy, typical of coastal areas in winter.
Inland towns like Lezama, Bilbao, and Portugalete have slightly cooler temperatures around 7°C to 10°C, with weather that can be cloudy, rainy, or sunny.
Further along the northern coast in Castro Urdiales, Laredo, and Güemes, temperatures remain stable around 6°C to 12°C. The weather is often partly cloudy with occasional rain and sun.
In the Cantabrian area, towns like Santander have similar temperatures, but there is more rainfall.
Moving to the Asturias region, with places like Ribadesella and Gijón, it is a bit cooler with temperatures around 6°C to 11°C. The weather often has heavy showers with some sun.
In Galicia, where the Camino ends, from Sobrado dos Monxes to Santiago de Compostela, expect temperatures around 5°C to 10°C with lots of rainfall and some sun.
