Weather forecast for the Camino del Norte in May

The weather on the Camino del Norte trail, which runs from Irún to Santiago de Compostela, is always changing.

In May, while starting in the Basque region, you may encounter lots of rain. Temperatures might go from cool to warm at 10°C to 21°C. The rain there can reach up to about 5.3 mm.

Next, in Cantabria and Asturias, the weather is also mixed with sun and heavy rain. But, the temperatures stay more stable, between 10°C and 18°C. They get around 2 to 4 mm of rain on average.

Galicia is known for changing weather with sun, cloud, and different types of rain. It often gets moderate rain. The hotter temperatures stay between 18°C and 24°C with nighttime cool down to 9°C when you get to Santiago de Compostela.
