May on the Dingle Way is changeable and maritime. Expect plenty of cloud with regular light showers or drizzle, and occasional heavier rain moving through. Starting out from Tralee toward the southern side of the peninsula, the pattern is mixed: long cloudy stretches, frequent light drizzle, and passing light rain. Heavier bursts can sweep through, but they tend to be brief, with calm, overcast gaps in between. Temperatures mostly sit in the low to mid-teens Celsius, feeling cooler under cloud and milder in any sunshine.

Around Dingle and out toward Slea Head and Dunquin, the weather stays showery and overcast. Light drizzle is common along the coast, with occasional periods of more persistent rain. Between showers there are workable dry windows and the odd brighter break, though cloud often hangs on.

Turning the corner on the north side by Feothanach and Cloghane, expect another changeable stretch. Bands of rain can be more frequent here, sometimes with heavier pulses, but there are also stretches that are simply grey and dry. When the air steadies, views open briefly before the next shower arrives.

Along Brandon Bay through Castlegregory and back toward Tralee, showers continue to alternate with longer cloudy spells. Some days bring brighter, milder interludes, and the route can feel notably warmer when sunshine holds for a few hours. Yet a fresh band of light to moderate rain is never far away, so conditions remain mixed right to the finish.
