Weather forecast for the Dingle Way in December

December on the Dingle Way is mostly cloudy and damp. Showers are frequent, often as drizzle or light rain, and they periodically merge into steadier, heavier bursts. Dry, brighter windows do occur, but they are usually brief before the next band arrives. Air feels cold to cool by day and chilly at night, and when colder air moves in a few wintry showers can mix with the rain. Overall it is a changeable month with more wet than dry hours, though there are occasional clear spells that sharpen views between systems.

Setting out from Tralee, expect a lot of cloud with on-and-off drizzle or light rain, punctuated by short clearer breaks. Colder snaps can mix sleet or brief wet snow into showers near sea level, but it typically turns back to cold rain. Temperatures run from near freezing to the low teens Celsius.

Towards Camp the showery pattern persists, with overcast skies and frequent drizzle building at times into steady rain. Milder, damp interludes alternate with crisper, colder spells, and a wintry flurry is possible when colder air pushes through.

Continuing to Annascaul, longer spells of rain become more likely between showery intervals. Cloud often dominates, though occasional lulls offer drier windows; in colder outbreaks, showers can turn wintry yet usually remain marginal at lower elevations.

Approaching Dingle, expect persistent drizzle and light rain, sometimes thickening into heavier bursts. Dry gaps do appear, but they are typically brief before another band arrives.

Around Dunquin the coast sees frequent passing showers with periods of steadier rain at times. Some breaks bring brighter skies, but the general feel remains cool, damp, and changeable.

Up the north side toward Feothanach, bands of light to moderate rain move through, occasionally heavy. Short-lived dry spells can clear the cloud before the next pulse of showers.

Crossing toward Cloghane, rain remains a regular feature with occasional heavier pulses. During colder incursions, sleet or even brief snow can mix in, especially around higher ground, before conditions revert to cold rain.

Along the strand and low ground near Castlegregory, overcast stretches alternate with light rain or drizzle. Isolated wintry showers are possible in colder phases, but many hours are simply grey and damp.

Closing the loop back to Tralee, the month finishes as it began: unsettled, with frequent cloud, intermittent drizzle or light rain, and occasional heavier rainbands. Short, clearer intervals bring sharper views before the next spell of wet weather rolls in.
