Starting near Kincardine, the month often opens with overcast skies and frequent drizzle or light rain, broken by brief brighter spells. Along the inner Forth towards the south Fife coast, showers are regular and sometimes persistent, with the odd heavier pulse; dry windows still appear for steady progress. Approaching Burntisland, the pattern stays changeable as clearer intervals alternate with light rain, and an occasional downpour moves through before clearing.
Down the coast past Buckhaven and into the East Neuk towards Elie, the showery theme continues. Drizzle and light rain are frequent, with the chance of a heavier line as fronts cross, though there are also breaks with partial sunshine. Daytime temperatures generally sit in the mid to high teens °C, occasionally nudging higher in sunnier spells.
Around Kingsbarns and through to Leuchars, conditions can turn more unsettled for stretches, with periods of steady rain mixed with lighter showers. Even so, calmer interludes bring lifting cloud and brighter gaps before the next band arrives. Any heavier bursts are usually short-lived but can feel intense while they pass.
Up the Tay estuary past Wormit Bay and on to Newburgh, conditions ease at times into drier, overcast days with light drizzle, then flip back to more organised rain. Brighter, warmer spells do occur here, but the pattern remains mixed, and a passing front can deliver a spell of heavier rain before skies brighten again.
