Starting by the Forth near Kincardine and along to the north shore toward Burntisland, days lean overcast with regular light drizzle. Shorter showers pass through, and on some days a heavier spell sets in before clearing. There are breaks with brighter skies and a milder feel, but cloud often returns by evening.

As the route turns along the open coast past Buckhaven and the East Neuk, the pattern stays mixed. Many days are mostly cloudy with patchy drizzle, and from time to time a more persistent band of rain moves through. Dry windows crop up between systems, giving clearer moments and a slightly warmer feel.

Around the exposed northeast near Kingsbarns and on toward the Eden Estuary, showers remain on and off. An occasional day brings soaking, sustained rain, while others manage long dry spells under high cloud. Crossing the Tay shore by Wormit and finishing to Newburgh, the changeable theme continues, with more overcast than sun but frequent workable gaps for steady walking.
