Starting by the Firth of Forth, days are often grey with long overcast spells. Light drizzle and occasional light rain are common, but there are dry spells and the odd brighter interval. A few fronts still bring a spell of steadier rain as you move out from the inner firth, and breezes along the estuary can make exposed headlands feel brisk. Daytime conditions sit in the mid-teens Celsius most of the time.

Along the more open coast through the middle stretches and the East Neuk, the changeable pattern continues. Overcast skies are frequent, with passing showers or drizzle, yet dry windows appear most days and the sun can break through for a while. Onshore breezes freshen around exposed beaches and points, while sheltered harbours feel calmer.

Rounding the northeast and turning into the Tay, days mix cloud and brighter spells with scattered showers. At times a more organised band of rain moves through, giving a wetter spell before easing back to showery conditions. The estuary often carries a noticeable breeze, occasionally gusty on open stretches, but it tends to ease in more sheltered inland sections. Evenings feel cool and most afternoons remain comfortably mild, with the odd warmer feel on clearer days.
