In June, the Camino de Santiago Francés experiences variable weather. As pilgrims traverse the route from the east to the west, they encounter a mix of sunny days and bouts of rain. Temperatures generally range from mild to warm, with highs reaching into the upper 20s °C in many areas. Rainfall varies significantly across different regions and days, with both light drizzles and heavier showers. The weather can be quite unpredictable, with some days being clear and sunny while others see overcast skies or moderate to heavy rain. Overall, the journey offers a diverse and changing climatic experience as one progresses along the trail.
Starting from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, the weather oscillates between sunny spells and intermittent rain, with highs reaching up to 28°C. As pilgrims proceed to Roncesvalles, sunny conditions alternate with patchy rain, while temperatures hover around 24°C.
In Zubiri and Pamplona, occasional heavy rain showers occur amid partly cloudy skies, with temperatures ranging from 17°C to 30°C. Moving towards Puente la Reina and Estella, the trail is marked by sunny intervals and sporadic heavy rain, where temperatures vary significantly.
Logroño experiences a mix of sunshine and heavy showers, with temperatures peaking at 31°C. Nájera and Santo Domingo de la Calzada continue the trend of patchy rain and sunny periods, with cooler days and highs reaching 27°C.
The segment through Belorado to Burgos sees consistent rain showers interspersed with sunny days. Highs frequently climb into the mid-20s, although cooler spells bring them down to around 14°C in some areas.
As pilgrims progress towards Frómista and Carrión de los Condes, sunny days are interspersed with significant rain showers, with occasional peaks in temperature reaching 39°C in Carrión de los Condes. Meanwhile, Terradillos de los Templarios through to León sees a similar tapestry of warm sunny days and scattered rain.
O Cebreiro and onward to Sarria showcases regular rain showers mixed with sunny breaks, with highs touching 31°C and lows remaining moderate. Towards Santiago de Compostela, the pattern continues, with overcast conditions and occasional rain showers marking the final leg of the journey.
