Beginning in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port in March, you might encounter a range of weather conditions, including cloudy days and some rain. The temperature usually stays between 13°C at its highest and 8°C at its lowest, with rainfall averaging at 2.7 mm.
As you move forward into the Roncesvalles area, prepare for inconsistent weather, including possible occasional rain. The temperature might drop slightly to between 10-12°C during the day and 2-4°C at night. Pamplona and Puente la Reina areas, later in the route, are a bit colder with a higher chance of heavy rain.
The area between Los Arcos and Logroño sees better weather with more sunny days, but rain is still a possibility. The temperature generally stays comfortable, with highs of 12-13°C and lows around 2-3°C.
Towards the end of the journey in Galicia, the weather generally improves, with temperatures ranging between 14-16°C in the daytime and 5-6°C at night. This period usually has more sunny days. Nonetheless, as you approach Santiago de Compostela, prepare for heavier rain, although the temperature remains more or less the same.
In short, the Camino Francés route in March has a mix of cloudy, partly sunny days and chance of rain. The temperature remains reasonably constant, making the journey quite comfortable, despite the potential for rain.
