In December, the last part of the Camino Francés walk from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela generally has mild winter weather and different amounts of rain. The usual high temperatures are between 10°C to 14°C. The average low temperatures are from 3°C to 9°C.
This route often has many days that are cloudy or overcast, but there are also some sunny days. It can also rain a lot, from light to heavy rain, and the amount of rain can change a lot from day to day.
The weather between Sarria to Arzúa is a bit colder with average high and low temperatures of 10°C and 4°C. The weather in this area is often cloudy and there can be medium or heavy rain.
As you get closer to O Pedrouzo and Santiago de Compostela, the weather gets a bit warmer with average high temperatures of 14°C and 12°C. However, it might rain more when you get closer to Santiago de Compostela, with an average of 6.8mm of rain per day compared to 2-3mm in the earlier part of the route.
So, if you are planning to do this walk, be ready for both cloudy and sunny days and be prepared for the possibility of rain during your journey.
