In November, the Via di Francesco experiences varied weather conditions as it passes through central Italy. Temperatures range from cool to mild, and rainfall is a common occurrence. Despite these fluctuations, there are also many clear days, allowing for pleasant walking conditions along the trail.
The Via di Francesco begins in Roma, where the month sees alternating sunny and rainy days, with temperatures ranging between 17°C and 23°C. Monte Sacro experiences frequent rain showers, but there are also stretches of sunny weather, with highs typically around 20°C.
In Monterotondo, moderate rain is prevalent, interspersed with sunny spells, and temperatures range from 15°C to 21°C. Progressing to Ponticelli di Scandriglia, the weather is marked by occasional heavy rain followed by clear skies, maintaining mild autumnal temperatures.
As the trail reaches Poggio San Lorenzo, the weather remains mixed, with temperatures ranging from 14°C to 19°C, and Rieti is subjected to similar conditions, including heavy rain showers and sunny periods.
Continuing on to Poggio Bustone and beyond to Piediluco and Ferentillo, walkers encounter a pattern of rain and sunshine, with temperatures often remaining in the mild teens. In Spoleto, clearer and sunnier intervals become more common, though rain persists sporadically.
Near the route’s conclusion, in towns like Sansepolcro and Pieve Santo Stefano, the weather features a continued mix of sunshine and rain, with gradual cooling as November progresses, maintaining highs mostly in the low teens.
