Lazio

Starting in Roma, weather ranges from sunny intervals to moderate or heavy rain showers, with highs reaching 17°C. It rains intermittently, with significant showers around Velletri and Cori. As walkers progress towards Sermoneta and Sezze, rainfall varies greatly, while temperatures remain moderate.

Further south in Terracina and surrounding areas like Fondi, rain is frequent, especially towards Itri and Formia, with brief dry spells. As the route approaches Minturno, showers persist, though not as intense.

Campania

In Sessa Aurunca, February offers a mix of cloudy skies and isolated rain showers. Moving through Teano and Alife, the weather remains unstable with occasional bouts of heavy rain offset by sunny breaks. As one approaches Benevento, temperatures fluctuate, and rain becomes more prevalent, with Buonalbergo experiencing frequent cloudy spells.

Apulia

From Celle San Vito to Troia, the trail finds cloudy skies and intermittent rain, especially pronounced around Castelluccio dei Sauri. The pattern continues through Ordona, with brief sunny periods.

Further towards Canosa and Andria, the climate shows frequent heavy showers, especially in coastal stretches. In Bitonto and Bari, conditions remain overcast, interspersed with moderate showers. As the trail nears the coastline towards Savelletri, rainy periods are interspersed with longer sunny intervals.

Continuing south through Brindisi and Torchiarolo, expect occasional sunshine, but cloudy weather dominates, escalating to heavy rain as the route moves to Lecce and Martano.

Finally, nearing Otranto and Leuca, the weather stabilizes somewhat, showcasing mostly cloudy days with periodic sunshine. Despite frequent rains, temperatures remain moderate, presenting a milder, temperate end to the journey.

This overview is for an early February start, walking the standard stages.
