In June, the Via Garona trail traverses diverse weather conditions. Starting from warm and variable conditions in Toulouse, the weather remains unpredictable with alternating sunny spells and rain showers. As you move through Muret, Carbonne, and Cazères, the pattern continues with moderate to heavy rainfall and partly cloudy days. By the time you reach Saint-Martory and Saint-Gaudens, the temperatures drop significantly, with frequent heavy showers marking the journey. The final leg towards Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges features cooler climates with persistent rain and sporadic sunny intervals, highlighting the dynamic nature of the region's June weather.
The journey begins in Toulouse, where the temperatures range widely from 17°C to 31°C. The conditions are quite varied, with sunny days interrupted by patchy rain and occasional moderate showers, logging rainfall up to 12 mm on some days.
Continuing to Muret, the temperatures remain between 16°C to 31°C, and the weather is similarly variable. Although some days continue to bask in sunlight, heavy rain at times ensures the route remains challenging, with up to 3 mm precipitation on heavier days.
In Carbonne, walkers face a mix of sunshine and heavier showers, with temperatures peaking at 31°C. Days alternate between heavy rain showers and pleasant sunny spells, with rainfall reaching up to 18 mm on particularly rainy days.
Upon reaching Cazères, the incline in rainfall becomes more pronounced, with showers frequently punctuating the journey. Temperatures here dip slightly, averaging 29°C at their highest, as heavy rain continues with accumulations exceeding 15 mm on the wettest days.
Further along the trail, Saint-Martory experiences noticeably cooler temperatures, between 9°C to 20°C. The weather oscillates between patchy rain and heavier showers, with a noteworthy 13 mm of rain occurring on the most demanding days.
Saint-Gaudens maintains this pattern of cooler temperatures and consistent rain. Walkers can expect highs reaching only 20°C, with precipitation rates peaking at 19 mm on days burdened by heavy rain showers.
The trek ends in Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges, where the climate is notably cool and wet. Temperatures range from 8°C to 22°C. Thundery outbreaks become a possibility amidst the persistent rain, with significant downpours hitting rates of up to 42 mm on some days, punctuated sporadically by clear skies.
