The beginning of the journey sees varying weather, with early days featuring a mix of sunshine and patchy rain. Temperatures are generally mild with highs reaching up to 22°C and lows dropping to 8°C. As the journey progresses, the weather remains predominantly cloudy, with occasional bursts of sunshine and intermittent moderate rain, particularly around Heddon-on-the-Wall, where heavy rain showers are possible.
As the path continues through Chollerford, more stable sunny periods are observed, but patchy rain continues to make unexpected appearances. Rainfall is moderate, with some days marked by significant rain showers, especially towards the middle of the path, where temperatures also exhibit a slight drop.
Near Walton and Carlisle, rain becomes more frequent and intense, with some days recording over 40 mm. Despite this, sunny breaks are interspersed, offering relief from the frequent showers. The journey concludes at Bowness-on-Solway with a mix of sunny spells and unpredictable rain, as temperatures hover between moderate lows of 6°C and highs of up to 23°C.
