Castile and León

In Ponferrada, October begins with a mix of sunny and overcast days, with temperatures lingering in the low to mid-20s °C. Rain is occasional, but generally light. Las Médulas follows a similar pattern, beginning with dry and sunny days before transitioning to periods of rain, notably heavy at times, which bring down temperatures to the high teens.

Galicia

Moving into O Barco de Valdeorras, the trail witnesses heavier showers, particularly early in the journey, alongside sunnier intervals. Temperatures tend to hover in the low 20s, but occasional rain can cause notable dips. A Rúa de Valdeorras enjoys some sunny stretches interspersed with rain showers, leading to varying daily highs. As one progresses through Quiroga, expect sporadic heavy rain that clears into dry, sunny weather. This fluctuation continues in A Pobra do Brollón where heavy showers mix with periods of sunshine. In Monforte de Lemos, sunny days become more prevalent, though the area is not exempt from the occasional rain shower.

Further along, Chantada experiences a substantial amount of rain and cloudy conditions before clear skies eventually dominate the scene. Rodeiro and Lalín see an initial spell of rain which then gives way to predominantly sunny and warm days. As the route meanders through Silleda, wet weather reemerges with heavy rain at times, followed by dry and moderate weather in Outeiro.

The journey concludes in Santiago de Compostela, marked by frequent rain showers, especially mid-month, and accompanied by cooler temperatures that persist towards the end of October. Moments of sunshine brighten the latter part of the trail, providing a more temperate and pleasant finish.
