Weather forecast for the Camino de Invierno in January

The Camino de Invierno is a less popular but still charming route of the Camino de Santiago. This path, which has different weather patterns, is known for its rainy and cloudy days.

The trail starts in Ponferrada, goes through the stunning area of Las Médulas, where people usually experience cloudy weather with some sunny moments. The temperature is usually around 8°C, but it can drop to 1°C in cooler hours. The following areas, O Barco de Valdeorras and A Rúa de Valdeorras, have a lot of rain, with occasional sunny days.

The temperature increases somewhat in the Quiroga and A Pobra do Brollón regions, reaching about 12°C and 10°C on average. Despite moments of sunshine, these areas still see a lot of rain, which can be heavy. Cloudy weather is also common, making the journey feel wintry.

Around Monforte de Lemos and Chantada, you can expect a mix of sun, partly cloudy skies, and a little rain. The temperature stays around 10°C in the daytime and falls to about 2°C at night. The usual rain amount is around 4-5mm.

The last part, which includes Rodeiro, Lalín, Silleda, and ends in Santiago de Compostela, has unpredictable weather switching between some rain, cloudiness, and occasional sunny spells. The temperature typically stays around 10°C during the day and falls to about 2-4°C at night. There can be a lot of rain sometimes.
