Starting from Killarney toward the Black Valley, conditions are commonly grey and damp, with overcast skies, light drizzle, and periodic light to moderate rain. Colder spells can flip showers to snow for a time before returning to rain. Daytime temperatures generally sit around 4–12°C, with chillier nights.

Continuing through Glencar, showers grow more frequent and can turn wintry, with occasional moderate to heavy bursts. As you approach Glenbeigh, there are quieter overcast interludes, but rain often returns, sometimes briefly heavy before easing back to drizzle. Snow remains possible during colder interludes.

From Cahersiveen to Waterville, the pattern tilts wetter overall, with recurring bands of moderate to heavy rain separated by short dry gaps. Brief clearer periods can follow a front, but conditions often cloud over again. Snow can still crop up during a cold snap.

Through Caherdaniel and on to Sneem, expect a showery rhythm: overcast skies, drizzle, and light to moderate rain, with the odd heavier pulse. Short brighter breaks appear now and then, but the general feel stays damp. Wintry showers are still possible.

Approaching Kenmare, a very wet spell can arrive, delivering a soaking before easing back to lighter rain or drizzle. The return toward Killarney mirrors the start: mostly overcast, intermittent drizzle and light rain, occasional snow flurries in colder air, and the chance of a brief brighter window before the next band arrives.
