Starting out around Killarney and into the Black Valley, days often flip between overcast skies, light drizzle, and periods of steady rain. Dry windows do appear, and when the cloud thins it can feel warm for a time before showers drift back in. Overall it stays mild and damp under a lot of cloud.
Continuing west toward Glenbeigh and along the northern side of the peninsula to Cahersiveen, the showery pattern persists. Some stretches turn mostly dry but grey, while slow-moving bands bring occasional heavier rain that can last for a few hours. Sunshine breaks through at times and lifts the feel, though it rarely stays settled for long.
Rounding the south coast past Waterville and Caherdaniel toward Sneem, passing showers alternate with brighter intervals, and a few days bring more prolonged rain. On clearer days the sun quickly warms things into a comfortable feel, but cloud often builds back with drizzle along the coast. Mist can cling to higher ground after rain.
From Kenmare back to Killarney, variability continues: mostly cloudy spells with light rain or drizzle, punctuated by a couple of much warmer, sunnier days. Even on better days, a brief shower can pop up. Through the loop, daytime temperatures generally sit in the mid-teens to low 20s °C, with nights staying mild.
