From Killarney into the Black Valley and over toward Glencar, the trail often sits under low cloud with drizzle or light rain, at times building to a steadier spell. Sheltered valleys can hold on to frost, and passing systems may flip showers to sleet or a short-lived snowfall on higher crossings. When the weather clears, there are brief brighter interludes before the next band arrives.

Approaching Glenbeigh and along to Cahersiveen, this stretch sees frequent drizzle and showers, with occasional heavy rain moving through. Coastal sections can feel a touch milder, while nearby hills still catch wintry showers during colder snaps. Cloud dominates much of the time, though breaks do appear between systems.

Around Waterville, Caherdaniel and Sneem, a showery pattern persists: light rain or drizzle punctuated by heavier outbreaks, then short dry gaps. On higher ground, sleet or snow is possible when colder air returns, while lower sections remain mostly wet rather than white. Daytime temperatures generally sit around 0–12°C.

Toward Kenmare and the return to Killarney, skies are often overcast with intermittent light drizzle and a few moderate spells of rain. Inland stretches can see frosty nights, and another brief flurry is possible as systems pass. Some runs stay mostly dry, but the overall picture remains cool, cloudy and changeable.
