Starting from Killarney, conditions often begin overcast with patches of drizzle or light rain. Short brighter windows do occur between fronts, but higher ground can still see sleet or a brief fall of wet snow. Overall it feels cool by day and chilly at night, with a damp feel when the cloud sits low.

Crossing into the Black Valley and on toward Glencar, showers tend to be more frequent and can merge into longer spells of rain. Valleys can funnel the wind, making it feel blustery during passing showers. Over the passes, wintry mixed precipitation remains possible, while clearer breaks follow as fronts move through.

Approaching Glenbeigh and along to Cahersiveen, the Atlantic influence grows, bringing regular drizzle with occasional heavier bursts. Skies stay mostly cloudy, yet there are intervals of brighter weather, especially after a band of rain clears. Near the coast it can feel a touch milder, though the breeze often freshens.

From Cahersiveen through Waterville and around Caherdaniel, expect a showery pattern with bands of light to moderate rain and some heavy pulses. Exposed stretches can be windy, and low cloud or mist may brush the hills. Between systems you can get longer dry windows with brighter spells.

Turning east through Sneem to Kenmare and back toward Killarney, the mix of cloud and showers continues, at times settling into a longer wet spell. Breaks of sunshine still appear, and winds generally ease a little inland, though gusty periods return with each front. A stray wintry shower remains possible on the higher ridges before the loop closes.
