The route starts under a lot of cloud, with frequent drizzle and light rain punctuated by dry gaps. As you move into the valleys, showers become more persistent at times and can build into steadier rain, though there are still calm, grey periods between bands. Days generally sit in the mid-teens Celsius, with the odd warmer push around 20.

Crossing toward Glencar, the pattern stays mixed: long overcast spells with scattered light showers, then a clearer slot. Near the coast around Glenbeigh, you may catch a brighter, warmer interlude, but showery bursts still pass through, and the sky often closes back in.

Around Cahersiveen and on to Waterville, drizzle is common and occasional pulses of heavier rain move through. Breaks do open for a few hours, yet the overall feel remains damp and grey, with only brief sunshine.

From Caherdaniel to Sneem, light drizzle and overcast skies dominate, with passing showers that can briefly intensify. There are also quieter stretches that stay mostly dry, before another band arrives. A clearer spell can slip in late in the day, but it rarely lasts.

The final leg through Kenmare back to Killarney returns to a familiar mix of low cloud, drizzle, and intermittent light to moderate rain. You can still find dry, overcast windows for steady walking, and the month tends to finish much as it began: cool, often cloudy, and changeable.
