Starting at Abisko and climbing up the valley toward Alesjaure, overcast conditions are common and precipitation comes and goes. Light snow shows up quickly, with drizzle or sleet at lower spots turning to snow as you gain height. Temperatures sit around freezing by day and often below at night, so precipitation tends to flip between wet and dry snow. Clear breaks occur but are usually short.

Across the high plateau and over the Tjäktja area toward Sälka and Singi, snowfall becomes more frequent and can be heavy at times. Cloud cover dominates, with occasional lulls that feel cold and still. When brief milder pulses push through, the valleys may see sleet, but the tops hold onto snow.

Dropping toward the lake basins of Kaitumjaure, Teusajaure, and Vakkotavare, the pattern stays unsettled. Showery snow alternates with longer periods of steady snowfall, and lower shores can catch bouts of cold rain. Overcast skies prevail, with the odd clearer interval between systems.

Around Sitojaure and the Rapadalen gateway by Aktse, then down to Pårte and Kvikkjokk, precipitation often turns mixed. Expect switches between wet snow and drizzle, punctuated by spells of more committed snow that can last through a day. Many days are grey, but there are occasional calmer, drier interludes.

Through Jäkkvik and the Pieljekaise area to Adolfström and Bäverholmen, the weather keeps its wintry feel. Light to moderate snow is frequent, with the odd heavier burst, while brief milder intrusions bring pockets of rain at lower elevations. Dry spells appear, though cloud often hangs on.

Continuing south past Sjnultje and Rävfall to Ammarnäs and up toward Aigert, systems pass regularly. Repeated snowfalls are the rule, sometimes heavy, while the valleys occasionally see sleet or rain. Most days lean overcast, with short-lived brighter breaks between bands.

The final alpine stretch by Serve, Tärnasjö, Syter, and Viterskalet into Hemavan is distinctly wintry. Snowfall remains frequent and can arrive in prolonged, heavier waves on the exposed sections, with only brief pauses. Lower spots may momentarily shift to sleet in milder moments, but overall the approach to Hemavan stays cold and cloudy.
