In January, the weather along the Ruta de la Lana in Spain shows variability between regions such as Valencia and Castile and León. Leaving Valencia, conditions gradually improve with sunnier spells through Campillo de Altobuey and Monteagudo de las Salinas. Cuenca presents mixed weather, switching between sunny and patchy rain with temperatures bouncing between mild and chilly. As the trail reaches Bascuñana de San Pedro, weather remains largely overcast with occasional moderate rain.
Retortillo de Soria starts under heavy rain and snowy conditions but relaxes into sunnier spells. Continuing to Fresno de Caracena, weather is mostly overcast with short sunny breaks but cold snaps persist. San Esteban de Gormaz enjoys more sun with periodic rain, followed by Quintanarraya, which experiences cloudy weather and brief heavy showers.
As the path approaches Santo Domingo de Silos and Mecerreyes, the weather includes heavier rain and snow showers mixed with sunny days. In Burgos, mild days intersperse with wintry conditions, including rain and snow showers, concluding the journey in a chilly yet scenic atmosphere.
