The weather in August along the Camino de Le Puy walking route, from Le Puy-en-Velay to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, is usually nice and warm, with some rain. The hottest it gets is in the mid to high 20s °C, and it can drop to the mid-teens °C at night.
The trip begins in Le Puy-en-Velay where it often has sunny days and just a little chance of rain. As you walk through Saint Privat-d’Allier and Saugues, there's usually dry and sunny weather with some rain sometime.
When you reach Domaine du Sauvage and Aumont-Aubrac, the weather stays mostly sunny but with a bit more rain. Similarly, while passing through Nasbinals and Saint-Côme-d’Olt, you still get lots of sun with an occasional heavy rain.
Arriving at Estaing, Conques, Figeac and Cajarc, the weather might get slightly warmer and see a mix of sunny and cloudy days with some rain showers. Inside Varaire and Cahors, there's a small increase in the chance of light rain but sunny days are still common.
Between Lascabanes and Lauzerte, you might see more clouds, but it's generally still sunny. Moissac and Auvillar have sunny and partly cloudy days with a few heavy rain showers.
As you continue through Lectoure and Condom, you'll notice a lot of sunshine and less rain. Eauze and Nogaro have a mix of sun and clouds with light to medium rain. Aire-sur-l’Adour tends to have more clouds.
In Arzacq-Arraziguet, there are more days with sun than rain. Arthez-de-Béarn, Navarrenx, and Aroue also have lots of sun but with some light rain.
The last part of the journey, through Ostabat to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, has similar weather. You might experience slightly more rain towards the end. Overall, August on the Camino de Le Puy is mostly sunny with comfortable temperatures. There could be some rain, but it's often sunny.
