The Camino de Madrid's weather in September starts off hot with little rain, especially around Madrid. The temperature and chances of rain drop as you go to places like Tres Cantos and Manzanares el Real. When you reach higher places like Cercedilla, it's cooler with less chance of rain, and similar weather is expected up to Santa María la Real de Nieva.
It might rain a bit when you reach Coca and Alcazarén, but it's still warm. In Puente Duero and Peñaflor de Hornija, there's more sun and less rain.
Through Medina de Rioseco and Cuenca de Campos, the weather stays warm with little rain. But, the closer you get to Sahagún, the cooler and wetter it gets with temperatures in the low twenties. This is more noticeable in places like Bercianos del Real Camino, Mansilla de las Mulas and León.
San Martín del Camino and Astorga may have some rain, with cooler temperatures. In higher places like Foncebadón, it's not much above the mid-twenties and often overcast.
The last part of the Camino, through Ponferrada, Villafranca del Bierzo, and O Cebreiro, is usually cooler and wetter. The weather in Triacastela, Sarria, and Portomarín is often wet or overcast with temperatures not much above 20°C.
The last bit to Palas de Rei, Arzúa, and O Pedrouzo has the same cooler and possibly rainy weather but often it's just cloudy. When you reach Santiago de Compostela, the weather is cooler (around 21°C) and mostly cloudy with some chance of rain.
