If you travel the Cammino Materano route in August, you'll experience typical summer weather which can change a lot.
Your trip will start in Bari where it's usually very sunny. The temperatures are usually hot, from 25°C to 31°C. It doesn't rain often, but there might be some light rain.
When you move to the towns of Bitetto and Cassano delle Murge, it gets a little bit hotter, up to 33°C. The nights are colder, between 24°C and 23°C. The weather is mostly sunny with some clouds. There is not much rain, but a bit more in Cassano delle Murge.
Then you'll go through Santeramo In Colle, Altamura, and Gravina In Puglia. Here, you'll see sun, clouds, and sometimes moderate to heavy rain. The temperatures will be around 32-33°C during the day and 22-23°C at night. It rains more here, especially in Altamura where it can rain about 3.0mm each day.
At the end, you'll reach Matera. The temperatures are like in the previous areas. The weather can change a lot, from sunny days to heavy rain and cloudy days. But it usually doesn't rain much, around 0.6 mm each day.
In summary, be ready for warm summer weather, lots of sunshine, and sometimes rain.
