The Cammino Materano in Southern Italy has mild winter weather. If you walk this path, you'll see temperatures around 10 to 13 degrees Celsius during the day and down to 4 degrees at night.
Your journey starts in Bari and goes through different areas like Bitetto, Cassano Delle Murge, and Santeramo In Colle where it's usually sunny. Sometimes there are clouds, and there might be some moderate or heavy rain. The average rain is about 1.1 to 1.5 mm per day.
As you get to Altamura and Gravina In Puglia, you'll see more clouds. The sun is still out often, but there's a bit more rain. The temperature can drop to an average low of 4 degrees Celsius here.
At the end of the Cammino, from Picciano to Matera, you'll usually see sun or partly sunny skies. But sometimes it's overcast, and there might be some rain. Be careful in Picciano - they've had freezing rain before.
So while most of the time it's sunny or partly sunny, come prepared for possible rain and cold weather, especially at night.
