Haute-Savoie

Beginning in the valley around Les Houches, overcast stretches are common, with snowfall on higher paths and occasional light rain or drizzle lower down. Through the approach toward Les Contamines, the pattern stays mixed: short clearer breaks are followed by fresh snow showers. Later, returning to the French side near Tré-le-Champ and La Flégère, wintry days recur, including bouts of heavier snow, though brief sunny interludes open views. Temperatures typically run from around freezing to the low teens, depending on elevation and exposure, and swings between wet and brighter spells are quick.

Aosta Valley

From the high ground above Les Chapieux toward Rifugio Elisabetta, frequent snow showers and some heavier bursts move through under largely cloudy skies. Dropping to Courmayeur brings more breaks of sunshine and a few mostly dry days, while higher slopes still pick up passing flurries. Continuing up Val Ferret toward Rifugio Bonatti, conditions stay changeable with more cloud than sun and intermittent snow, especially on shaded, windward terrain. Expect a broad range from near freezing to the low teens, with colder feel at pass level and milder pockets on sheltered valley floors.

Valais

Crossing into La Fouly, the weather alternates between clear windows and returning snow, including a couple of more intense outbreaks. Around Champex-Lac, quieter, brighter spells appear, but passing disturbances still bring light rain in the valley and snow higher up. Approaching the Col de la Forclaz, another round of fronts can deliver heavier snowfall, then give way to clearer intervals. Temperatures generally span near freezing to the low teens, with colder conditions lingering on high, north-facing ground while lower routes briefly feel springlike.
