Navarra

From Pamplona into the foothills, expect a lot of cloud with on‑and‑off drizzle and occasional periods of steady rain, punctuated by short sunny breaks. As you move toward Irurtzun and on to Altsasu, colder outbreaks can turn some showers wintry, with sleet or brief snow more likely near higher ground. Days are mostly cool, and nights often feel cold, with the odd milder afternoon between fronts.

Álava

Crossing the Alavese plain, Atlantic fronts bring frequent rain under generally overcast skies, at times briefly heavy. Short, brighter windows slip in between systems, offering calmer stretches before showers return. Temperatures run cool to mild by day, with chilly early starts. Approaching the provincial center, the pattern stays showery rather than prolonged, alternating drizzle and dry breaks.

Castile and León

On entering northern Burgos, the weather turns very mixed: calm, sunny spells that feel springlike are followed by fast‑moving bands of rain. In colder snaps, the Ebro canyon and its higher rims can see sleet or late snow, while the valley floor often keeps things showery. Days are generally cool to mild, with the occasional notably warm afternoon, and mornings can still be cold. Showers tend to be scattered in open stretches, becoming more frequent where the valley narrows.

Cantabria

Cloud increases again after the border, with light rain or drizzle common and occasional pulses of steadier rain. Colder air still reaches the interior valleys at times, bringing a chance of wet snow in upland stretches. Days run cool to mild, with cold starts and only short sunny breaks. Toward the western end, the pattern usually shifts to passing showers separated by longer dry intervals.
