The Pennine Way, which goes from Edale to Kirk Yetholm in England, has different weather conditions in April. Here’s what you can usually expect:
In the first part of the route, from Edale to Langdon Beck, you will see a mix of light rain, cloudy skies, and sometimes sunny weather. Temperatures are usually between 8°C to 10°C during the day and 1°C to 3°C at night. It rains quite often, with several days of light or moderate rain.
In the northern part, from Dufton to Kirk Yetholm, temperatures get a bit warmer, with daytime highs around 13°C and nighttime lows around 3°C to 4°C. The weather varies more here, with cloudy and sunny periods, and rain is less frequent but still happens. It gets a bit drier as you reach the end of the route.
In general, it’s cool, and there will be a mix of wet and cloudy days with some sunny periods.
