The Camino Portugués walk starts in Portugal's capital, Lisboa. The weather there is usually mild, with average highs of 16°C. As you go north through central Portugal, you'll see both sun and rain, and sometimes heavy rain, in places like Azambuja and Santarém. Temperatures here range from 10°C to 16°C.
The walk goes further north to Coimbra, where the weather is partly cloudy with some rain, and temperatures are usually around 15°C high and 7°C low.
In the north of Portugal, in places like Grijó and Porto, there's often heavy rain and the average highest temperature is around 14°C.
The walk then goes into the Galicia area of Spain, which is often wetter. Places like Águeda and Albergaria-a-Velha have moderate to heavy rain, with temperatures from 9°C to 14°C. The weather in Vilarinho and Barcelos is sometimes sunny, sometimes very rainy.
The route continues to Ponte de Lima, Rubiães, and Tui, where it rains more and temperatures go down slightly, staying between 8°C and 14°C.
Finally, the walk ends in Redondela, Pontevedra, and Santiago de Compostela. Here, you'll see sun, clouds, and light to heavy rain, and the temperatures are often around 11°C high and 4°C low. So be ready for both sun and rain, and changing temperatures, on the Camino Portugués.
