In July, the Camino Portugués Central typically experiences varied weather conditions across its regions. The south enjoys predominantly sunny weather with temperatures frequently rising into the mid-30s°C and occasional light rain. As one moves northward, the weather remains warm and sunny, though rain showers increase in frequency, particularly in the later parts of the month, with temperatures ranging from the low 20s°C to the 30s°C. Galicia, at the northern end of the route, sees more cloudy days and frequent rainfall, especially in the latter half, with temperatures mostly in the 20s°C.
The weather in Lisboa during July is mostly sunny, with occasional patchy rain. The temperatures range from lows of 14°C to highs of 39°C, with only light precipitation occurring on a few days. Overcast days are also seen, particularly towards the end of the month.
In Santarém and nearby areas, the weather remains sunny with sporadic overcast spells. Highs can reach up to 41°C, while lows generally stay between 13°C and 25°C. Moderate to heavy rain occasionally interrupts the typically dry conditions.
The Centro region, including towns like Tomar and Coimbra, exhibits a pattern of sunny spells with intervals of cloud cover and some rain. High temperatures can exceed 42°C, and rainfall is mostly light, with sporadic moderate showers observed.
As we reach the Norte region, places like Barcelos and Ponte de Lima experience a mix of sun and rain. The highs are moderate, peaking around 28°C and lows hovering between 11°C and 19°C. Rain is more frequent here compared to further south.
In Galicia, the weather tends to be overcast with frequent rain showers. Tui and Santiago de Compostela witness more rainy days, with temperatures ranging from 11°C to 31°C. The end of the month sees intensified precipitation, marking a wetter climate compared to other regions.
