In September, the Camino Primitivo sees diverse weather conditions across its regions, Asturias and Galicia. Asturias experiences varying temperatures with highs ranging from about 17°C to 30°C and lows around 11°C to 18°C. Rainfall is sporadic with occasional heavy showers, and there are both sunny and cloudy spells. In Galicia, temperatures similarly fluctuate with high temperatures reaching up to 34°C, and lows dipping down to 6°C at times. There's a mix of sunny days and rainfall, from light drizzles to moderate showers, throughout the month.
In Oviedo, there's a mix of sunny days interspersed with periods of rain, particularly with heavy showers on some days. Temperatures rise to around 26°C, with cooler days seeing dips to 17°C. The path through Grado and Salas is marked by sunny skies more frequently, though rain appears occasionally, especially with heavy downpours causing significant precipitation. Tineo and Borres share similar weather patterns, featuring mostly clear skies but also experiencing bouts of rain with temperatures fluctuating between the low 20s°C to high 20s°C.
Upon entering A Fonsagrada, the weather often remains sunny with occasional light rain. Temperatures peak towards the end of the journey, reaching highs of 31°C. As you approach O Cádavo and Lugo, the climate remains temperate, with significant overcast conditions and sporadic rains punctuating sunny spells. Towards Ferreira, Melide, and Arzúa, there is more sun, although heavy showers can lead to considerable rainfall, affecting trails intermittently. Upon reaching Santiago de Compostela, the conditions see a mix of sunshine interposed with periods of significant rainfall, concluding the journey with a balance of dry and wet spells.
