Weather forecast for the Via Romea Germanica: Padua → Rome in April

Veneto

From Padua through Monselice to Rovigo and Polesella, April alternates overcast spells and brighter breaks, with frequent drizzle and light rain. Afternoon highs range 10–24°C while nights fall 0–11°C. Showers are usually brief, but bursts reach around 23 mm near Monselice and about 17 mm near Polesella, with occasional mostly clear windows in between.

Emilia-Romagna

Crossing Ferrara and the Po plain toward Traghetto and Anita, periods of cloud dominate with intervals of sun; rain varies from spotty drizzle to steady falls, peaking near 24 mm at Ferrara. Along the coast around Casal Borsetti and Ravenna, several dry or partly sunny days appear, punctuated by light rain of 1–8 mm. Turning inland through Forli, Cusercoli, and Santa Sofia into Bagno di Romagna, conditions cool and stay unsettled; highs span 7–26°C with lows down to -1°C, and the mountains can still see late snow or cold rain with daily totals up to 14 mm.

Tuscany

Over the Apennine crest at Corezzo and Chitignano, April is unsettled and cool, with cloud, drizzle, and occasional late snow; highs vary 6–22°C and lows -2–11°C, and rain can reach roughly 22 mm. Descending via Subbiano and Arezzo, afternoons moderate to 14–23°C with scattered light to moderate showers of 1–6 mm amid brighter intervals. Approaching Castiglion Fiorentino and Cortona, mixed sun and cloud continues, and some days bring heavier showers of 11–15 mm.

Umbria

Across Pozzuolo and Paciano toward Citta della Pieve, skies swing between partly cloudy and overcast, with mild afternoons of 15–25°C and cool nights of 2–14°C. Through Ficulle and Orvieto, showers become more frequent; while many days see only light amounts, stronger spells deliver 10–27 mm.

Lazio

From Lubriano to Montefiascone and Viterbo, the pattern turns warmer with frequent sunny breaks; highs reach 20–26°C and nights sit 7–14°C, yet showers recur. Crossing Vetralla and Sutri, variability continues, with light rain on some days and occasional heavy episodes around 27 mm. Near Campagnano di Roma and La Storta into Rome, alternating dry days and brief downpours persist; totals locally peak near 29 mm, with several warm, partly sunny days between systems.
