When walking along the Ruta del Padre Sarmiento, expect stable temperatures around 8°C to 17°C. However, the weather changes often.
The journey starts in Pontevedra, and goes through coastal towns like Sanxenxo, O Grove, and A Illa de Arousa, before moving to Santiago de Compostela. In seaside areas, rainfall often varies from light to heavy, along with some clear periods. You may also get a bit of sun. The usual high temperature is about 16°C to 17°C and drops a bit as you go along.
Reaching Cambados and Vilanova de Arousa, rain often gets heavier. This continues as you move inland to places like Vilagarcia de Arousa and Padrón. Here, mild rain, cloudy skies, and heavier showers are common. Temperatures may drop to around 14°C to 15°C.
Finally, in Santiago de Compostela, you'll probably notice daytime temperatures getting colder, around 14°C. Here, mild rain is usual, but prepare for heavier showers and cloudy skies. You might even see some sun. With rainfall common along the route, expect from 4.0 mm to 12.5 mm of rain per day.
