In October, the weather in Tokushima is mild, with temperatures around 25°C during the day and 20°C at night. It gradually gets cooler by mid-October. Expect a mix of cloudy and sunny days with some rain.
In Kōchi, temperatures here are similar, with highs of 23-24°C and lows dropping to 17°C in October. It rains more often, including some heavy showers, mixed with sunny and cloudy days.
As you move west into Ehime, it gets cooler. Highs are around 21°C and lows around 13°C. There are more sunny days with less rain compared to Kōchi.
In Kagawa, towards the end of the route, the weather cools further, with daytime highs in the high teens and nighttime lows in the low teens. Sunny and partly cloudy days are common, with occasional rain. This region is generally drier.
In summary, the weather on the Shikoku Henro trail goes from warm and somewhat wet in Tokushima and Kōchi, to cooler and drier in Ehime and Kagawa.
