Auckland

In Auckland, the weather is dynamic, with both rainy and sunny days. The temperatures fluctuate with highs between 16°C and 20°C, while lows range from 10°C to 18°C. Rain occurs frequently, with some heavy showers reaching up to 19 mm on certain days. However, there are intervals of dry and sunny weather, especially towards the end of the month.

Waikato

As walkers proceed to Rangiriri, heavy rain remains a theme, exceeding 5 mm on several days, with temperatures being mild.

By the time the route reaches Huntly and its surroundings, rain continues to dominate, interspersed with periods of partial cloudiness and even sunshine. The temperatures in this region see highs from 13°C to 20°C and lows that vary significantly from 4°C to 15°C. Later in the trail, areas like Kaniwhaniwha Campsite and Otorohanga experience heavy rainfall, sometimes exceeding 60 mm a day, with temperatures maintaining a similar range.

Approaching Waitomo and Te Kūiti, the weather patterns remain erratic, with frequent rain showers and occasional sunny breaks. High temperatures fluctuate around 15°C to 19°C, while lows can dip to 4°C. This stretch is characterized by persistent rain and varying cloud cover, with clear days being scarce.
