As the route continues through the Raetea Peak Camp Site and Mangamuka, rain showers are frequent but often broken by sunny periods. Towards Kaikohe-Hokianga Community and Puketi Recreation Area Campsite, moderate to heavy rain showers dominate the weather patterns, demanding awareness of wet conditions.

Traversing Kerikeri and the Bay of Islands, the weather fluctuates between cloudy and rainy days with occasional sun. This variability persists through to Paihia, Waikare, and Whangarei, where rain is interspersed with brief sunny periods and overcast skies.

Further south, through Ōakura, Whananaki, Matapouri, and Ngunguru, moderate to heavy rains persist with occasional clear days. As hikers approach Pataua and Ocean Beach, the wet conditions continue, albeit with moderate rain and temperatures struggling to exceed 16°C.
