Starting at Cape Reinga, the weather features moderate temperatures between 8°C and 18°C, with a mix of sunny days and moderate rain showers. As hikers progress towards Te Paki and Te Kao, the pattern of intermittent sunshine with occasional heavy rain continues, with temperatures reaching up to 17°C.

Through Pukenui and Waipapakauri, the trend of patchy rain and cloudy skies persists, with precipitation peaking during a few heavy rain days. In Ahipara, conditions remain moderate with some heavy rain spells interrupting the prevalent sunshine and patchy clouds.

From Kaitaia to Raetea Peak Camp Site, the weather varies between sunny spells and heavy rain showers, with temperatures stabilizing around mid-teens. By the time they reach the final stretch towards Auckland, the weather stabilizes slightly with regular intervals of clear skies interrupting frequent showers, concluding the journey with temperatures peaking at 20°C in Auckland.
