Marlborough

The journey begins in Picton, where conditions vary from partly cloudy to heavy rain showers, with temperatures generally staying between 8°C and 14°C during the day. Schoolhouse Bay sees a mix of cloud and sun, with occasional rain, particularly heavier towards Endeavour Inlet. At Camp Bay and the Bay Of Many Coves, expect rain interspaced with sunny days, marking a typical pattern of July weather in this area. Torea Bay and Onahau Bay experience more of these mixed weather patterns, with intermittent heavy rain. As one heads through Anakiwa and finally towards Havelock, the rain becomes less frequent, giving way to mostly sunny spells, although heavy rain can still occur unexpectedly.

Tasman

Upon reaching Starveall Hut and crossing through to Old Man, patchy rain and overcast skies frequently dominate. Despite these, sunny intervals break through, then as one proceeds to Bishops Cap, the pattern of showers and sunshine continues. Moving through Top Wairoa and Hunters Hut, sporadic sunshine might be interrupted by showers, some of which are heavy. Approaching Beeby's Knob, overcast conditions alternate with sunny spells, and finally, the trip concludes at St Arnaud, where complex weather involving clouds, sun, and frequent heavy showers persists, punctuated by occasional clear days with mild temperatures.
