The rain intensity increases around Greenstone Hut and Taipo Hut, with heavy showers and moderate rainfall. Careys Hut sees a mix of moderate rain, some sunshine, and colder temperatures with lows reaching -2°C. Fiordland Community experiences sporadic light freezing rain and significant rainfall with temperatures mainly between 3°C and 14°C. At The Key and Mount Hamilton, weather conditions include freezing rain and heavy rain showers, and temperatures often dipping to negative figures.
In Aparima Hut and Lower Wairaki Hut, the weather alternates between moderate snowfall and sunny spells with temperatures ranging from lows of -2°C to highs of 16°C.
