The Camino de Vézelay, also known as the Via Lemovicensis, goes through many different parts of France and the weather changes a lot along the way.
The trip starts in a beautiful town called Vézelay in France's Burgundy area. The weather at the beginning is often cloudy with some rain. The temperature is usually cool to mild, with highest temperatures ranging from 15 to 19 degrees Celsius and lowest temperatures from 6 to 10 degrees Celsius.
As you move into the central part of France, the weather is much the same. There might be some light to moderate rain, but there is also more sunshine. The temperature slowly increases from the high teens to low 20s during the day. The nighttime temperatures are cooler, usually around 7 to 9 degrees Celsius.
When you get to the southwest part of France, around Périgueux and Douville, the weather changes quite a bit. There are more sunny and partly cloudy days, and not so much rain. The temperatures are warmer, with the highest temperatures usually being in the low to mid 20s. Nighttime temperatures are usually around 11 to 12 degrees Celsius.
The last part of the route through the Basque Country up to Ostabat has more changeable weather. There are still sunny days, but there is a chance of heavy rain, and when it does rain, it tends to pour. Daytime temperatures are in the low to mid 20s and at night it's usually around the mid teens.
In summary, the weather along the Camino de Vézelay changes a lot. Be ready for some rainy days. Most of the time, the temperatures are comfortable, but it can be cool, especially in the evenings and early mornings.
