In November, the Fisherman's Trail offers a varied climate along the Alentejo Coast and the Algarve. The weather ranges from sunny days to periods of rain, with temperatures generally between the mid-teens and low twenties Celsius. Rain showers are frequent, especially in some coastal localities, contrasting with days of clear skies. As you traverse from São Torpes along Alentejo Coast to Lagos in the Algarve, expect a mix of cloud cover and sunlight, accompanied occasionally by notable downpours. A typical day can begin with overcast skies and transition to brighter conditions or feature intermittent rain.
Starting at São Torpes, the trail experiences a mixture of partly cloudy days with moderate temperatures reaching up to 22°C, interspersed with occasional moderate rain showers. Moving on to Porto Covo, conditions remain much the same with several sunny days, but with increased rainfall, particularly heavy showers at times causing up to 14.5 mm of precipitation. Vila Nova de Milfontes sees similar patterns, with bouts of heavy rain disrupting otherwise calm days. The trend of mixed sunny and rainy conditions continues in Almograve, with significant rain events and temperatures fluctuating around the high teens Celsius. Zambujeira do Mar follows, similarly alternating between sunny spells and moderate showers, while Odeceixe concludes the Alentejo with predominantly sunny days, broken by a few heavy rain events.
In Aljezur, the weather showcases varied conditions, from sunny to heavy rain, particularly mid-period with notable showers. Arrifana offers a similar dynamic with sunshine and heavy rain at times, while Carrapateira sees periodic heavy rain amid mostly sunny and partly cloudy skies. As you reach Vila do Bispo, the trail is characterized by a balance of sun and sporadic, moderate rain events. In Sagres, mostly sunny days are briefly interrupted by moderate showers, then the trail leads to Salema which greets travelers with predominantly sunny weather and minimal rainfall. Luz maintains the sunny outlook with intermittent rain, but Lagos introduces heavier, regular showers, making for a turbulent climatic conclusion to the trail.
