Starting out from the city edge into the Dublin Mountains, days often begin grey with low cloud and frequent drizzle. Showers come and go, with occasional steadier rain, but there are also dry interludes that feel mild, generally in the mid-teens to low 20s Celsius. Skies rarely clear completely at this stage, yet brighter gaps do appear between passing bands.

Across the uplands around Roundwood and into the approaches to Glendalough, the pattern stays changeable. Cloud dominates, but short sunny spells can break through, followed by light showers or a heavier burst on some afternoons. Valleys can be a touch drier than exposed heights, though showers still drift through.

Through Glendalough and over to Glenmalure, passing fronts can bring periods of steady rain, separated by longer dry windows. As you continue south toward Moyne, showers remain frequent and can merge into rain at times, especially on open slopes. Between these bands the weather turns mostly dry, with plenty of cloud overhead.

In the lower country toward Shillelagh and Clonegal, conditions tend to settle a bit. You get more warm, bright spells and longer dry runs, though light showers are still possible and an occasional heavier downpour can move through. The warmest-feeling days are here, with the sun making brief but pleasant appearances.
