Starting from Marlay Park and into the Dublin Mountains towards Knockree, days tend to be mostly overcast with patchy drizzle or light rain. Colder outbreaks can turn some showers to sleet or wet snow, especially on exposed stretches, while brief brighter spells do appear between bands of cloud. Temperatures generally range from near freezing to the low teens Celsius.

Through Roundwood and into Glendalough and Glenmalure, the pattern stays unsettled. Expect frequent grey skies with light drizzle at times, punctuated by occasional heavier rain that can set in for several hours. On colder days, wintry mix or snow is possible on higher ground, while clearer slots are short-lived before the next system arrives.

Beyond Moyne towards Shillelagh and Clonegal, conditions gradually feel a touch milder at times but remain changeable. Light rain and drizzle are common, with some longer wet spells, yet there are also drier interludes that allow stretches of mostly dry walking. Wintry precipitation is still possible during brief cold snaps, but lower elevations here more often see cold rain than snow.
