South Tyrol

From the northern start, conditions are often overcast with recurring snow showers. Snowfalls can build into heavier bursts that lay down fresh cover, then ease to short bright windows. The air is consistently cold, roughly −15°C to 0°C across these early miles.

As you climb onto the high plateau and traverse toward the next basins, the cold deepens and the weather stays unsettled. Light to moderate snow is frequent, and heavy squalls occasionally sweep the open ground, with patchy sun between systems. Winds are more noticeable on ridges, and visibility can swing quickly with each passing band.

Belluno

Crossing into the higher Belluno passes, the pattern remains wintry and volatile. Overcast skies dominate, with regular light to moderate snow and periodic heavy falls that can bring whiteout on exposed slopes. A few calm, partly sunny breaks appear between storm cycles.

Continuing south across the central massif, the snow continues in pulses under mostly cloudy skies. Mid‑elevation sections see alternating flurries and quieter spells, with temperatures largely below freezing and surfaces staying snow covered. Stronger bursts still occur as fronts cross.

Further down toward the southern end, the air moderates and precipitation can mix. Lower elevations occasionally nudge above freezing, and some events fall as wet snow or even cold rain near the final trailhead. Overall, the section spans roughly −20°C to +5°C depending on height and exposure, with longer dry gaps still less common than overcast and snow.
