South Tyrol

From the lakeside start around Lago di Braies, mornings are often bright with thin cloud, then showers or a thunderstorm can bubble up in the afternoon; between systems, long dry spells give steady walking. Climbing toward the Biella area, the air feels crisper, and brief cold snaps can fling sleety bursts across the highest ground before clearing. Crossing the Fanes plateau, the pattern stays changeable, alternating sunny gaps with passing drizzle or light rain and the occasional heavier downpour. Overall, temperatures sit in a cool-to-mild band, with high huts turning notably chilly when cloud or wind moves in.

Belluno

Over the high crests of Lagazuoi and Nuvolau, July brings repeated cycles of sun, growing cloud, and afternoon showers; storms are often short but can be intense, with gusty ridgeline winds and fast-clearing skies. Dropping toward Città di Fiume and Coldai, the mix remains unsettled-but-hikeable, combining long dry windows with patches of drizzle or moderate rain and the odd heavy burst. South through Vazzoler and Bruto Carestiato to the Pramper and Pian de Fontana forests, the air grows more humid; expect more sustained showers at times, yet also calm, bright breaks between systems. By the final descent toward La Pissa, cloud can linger in shaded gullies while the valley opens to clearer intervals; temperatures run mild to warm overall.
